What We Do
Connecting for Education aims to link schools with Small International Development Charities and their respective programmes. We would like this to be a genuine partnership with schools taking the opportunity to learn about life in a developing country and the projects which work in that country and get an understanding of international development and how it works. At the same time, they may wish to fundraise for or adopt a particular programme.
How Does It Work?
All the Charities on this site are open to being in contact with schools. The school can browse the different organisations and select the one which it wishes to partner with. The charity page gives details about the project and also the support they provide to the school. They then directly contact the organisation who will respond
Why is it important?
Issues facing children and young people wherever in the world (the likes of climate change, gender equality and how to live sustainably) affect and connect us all — wherever we are in the world. Many small charities do amazing work in these areas in developing countries They need support and encouragement and at the same time the partnership with schools can equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to act more thoughtfully, ethically and responsibly as citizens and contributors to society.
