Aprender - Educating the world

Many of you have already invested in the education of your own children and have seen the benefits. Now we are asking that you do the same for earth’s forgotten children.

Millions of children and families around the world cannot take access to primary schooling for granted, as most in the West do.

  • More than 115 million 6- to 12-year-olds are not in school in the developing world; three-fifths of them are girls.

  • More than 150 million children in the developing world start school but do not complete four years; in Sub-Saharan Africa, only one in three who attend school complete a primary education.

  • The situation is particularly poor in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East, where proportionately more children are out of school than in other regions

Investment is key and makes sense economically. The rate of return on Early Childhood Development investments can be more than 13%*

The Aprender Education Development Foundation brings a synthesis of UK school leadership experience plus experience in the field of change management in organisations in developing countries. Our coaches lead change in an underperforming environment using a nuanced approach to match each unique cultural context.

Our business model relies on investment so that we can offer our services for free to our clients. Why?

We often work in areas of high deprivation, low teacher salary and endemic corruption. We feel it is a vital part of our approach to be able to say to our clients that we do not receive any funding from their government to deliver our support. We have seen, time after time, the group dynamic change when this is explained. We are told by clients that this is often a unique selling point for us as there is often a historic legacy of Western consultants receiving large pay-outs by governments.

We can only do this with generous investors partnering with us.
