What do they provide:
School Libraries - EEL seeks to fund a school librarian in 34 primary schools. The librarian ensures the school library is open for grade 5-8 students and on average 575 children a month access each school library.
In addition, the role of a librarian provides vital employment to a school leaver (usually female) where youth unemployment is over 40% and a means for them to support their family or continue their studies
Cost of Librarian: £200 per year plus £1.50 per additional book for the library
Schools Disability Clubs - EEL funds school disability clubs across 50 schools. The disability club had two purposes.
Carry out activities that supported the integration of CwDs with non-disabled children.
To create an income generating scheme that earns income to support CwDs with the purchase of stationary (Exercise books and pens which is a barrier to entry in school)
On average the disability club is attended by around 25-30 students) Cost for a Disability Club £100
